2) Register FRN and ULS Access
- Create your FCC CORES profile and save your FRN securely.
- Verify ULS login access before exam day.
- Bring FRN details to the VE session.
3) Schedule an Exam Session
- Reserve an in-person or accredited remote VE session.
- Confirm fees and accepted payment methods.
- Arrive early with IDs and required documents.
4) Complete Exam Day Checklist
- Bring photo identification and FRN.
- Bring any existing CSCEs if upgrading.
- Follow all VE room and device rules.
5) Complete FCC Follow-Up
- Monitor email for FCC notices.
- New licenses: pay FCC fee promptly.
- Confirm call sign posting in ULS.
6) Get Active Immediately
- Check into nets and log early contacts.
- Set your next upgrade milestone.
- Use a mentor for operating and station best practices.
