Join us for our monthly club meetings where we share knowledge, plan activities, and build the amateur radio community. Every meeting features educational content, club business, and great fellowship.

We meet every month except December on the third Thursday at 7:00 PM. All licensed amateur radio operators and interested guests are welcome!

Everything you need to know about our club meetings

Meeting Schedule

  • Frequency: Monthly (except December)
  • Day: Third Thursday of each month
  • Time: 7:00 PM Central Time
  • Duration: Approximately 1.5 hours
  • Doors Open: 5:30 PM for socializing

License Testing

  • When: Before each monthly meeting
  • Time: 6:00 PM (1 hour before meeting)
  • Cost: $15 per test session
  • Requirements: Photo ID & Social Security Number

What to Expect at Our Meetings

A typical W5OBM meeting includes fellowship, education, and club business

5:30 PM - Social Time

Arrive early for informal conversation, equipment show-and-tell, and getting to know fellow hams. Great time for new visitors to introduce themselves.

6:00 PM - License Testing

Candidates for new and upgraded licenses should bring a government issued ID, Social Security Number, and your FRN number from the FCC.

7:00 PM - Call to Order

Formal meeting begins with the Pledge of Allegiance, moment of silence for Silent Keys, and welcome to visitors and new members.

7:10 PM - Club Business

Secretary's report, treasurer's report, committee updates, and discussion of upcoming events and activities.

Old Business discussion, and New Business discussion. Any planning for up-coming events.

7:30 PM - Educational Program

Technical presentations, guest speakers, product demonstrations, or discussions on amateur radio topics and new technologies.

8:15 PM - Open Discussion

Q&A session, upcoming events planning, volunteer opportunities, and general amateur radio discussion among members.

8:30 PM - Adjournment

Meeting officially ends, but many members stay to continue conversations, examine equipment, and plan future activities.

New to amateur radio? Don't worry! Our meetings are beginner-friendly, and experienced members are always happy to answer questions and help newcomers.
